MEWBOURNE, ROSE E., age 91 of Birmingham, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 22, 2017 and is now resting in the hands of the Lord. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Huffman. Rose was the last living member of her family and will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison M Mewbourne, Jr.; and son, Douglas Mewbourne. She is survived by her children, Phyllis Tortorici (Joe) of Shelby, AL, Rodney Mewbourne (Phyllis) of Morris, AL, David Mewbourne (Debbie) of Collinsville, OK, Andrew Mewbourne of Panama City, FL and Morris Mewbourne (Nikki) of Trussville, AL; daughter-in-law, Deb Mewbourne of Pinson, AL; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Her service will be on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church beginning at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
