On Monday, April 6th, 2026 mom's room was ready and she peacefully walked into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by those she loved. She was born on May 30, 1924 in Lawrence County Alabama. She graduated from Lawrence High School and from Jacksonville State as a Certified Dietary Manager. She worked for 20 years with Estes Nursing Home.
Mom was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Her dear friend from church, Louise Mango visited and loved on mom on a regular basis as they developed a sweet friendship.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Lawrence Latham, 7 sisters, 2 brothers, her husband, Cecil H. Prickett and her son, Chip Prickett. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Prickett and her daughter in love, Kim Williams, her brother, Henry (HJ) and his wife Linda and many special nieces and nephews. Her nephew, Buddy Turner, who called her "Mom" and took special care of her in the last years of her life. Gary Nix was a wonderful friend who lovingly took care of mom's yard and home for her over the last 32 years.
A special thanks to mom's caregivers, Kim Dowdle, Ramona Robinson, Carol Barber, Melinda Self, and Nancy Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Asbury United Methodist Church or Enhabit Hospice. Thank you Bonnie Walton from Enhabit and mom's sweet nurse, Domonique.
