

Ruth Williamson Stricklin of Hoover, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019. She was 88 years of age. She was born in Searls, Alabama and attended Brookwood High School. She was retired from Birmingham Steel Erectors. She was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover, Alabama. She enjoyed home decorating and working in her yard. Her hobby was her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband T. O. Stricklin, stepson Joe K. Stricklin, father A. E. Williamson, mother Ewell King Williamson, siblings Nora Lee Oswalt, Corene Thrasher, Naomi Bosch, Eula Mae Kilgore, Allen Williamson, Carl Williamson and Rembert Williamson. She is survived by sons Larry K. Hannah (Susan) and Dale Hannah (Julie) and daughter Kay Thomas (Pat), her grandchildren Kim Jablonka (Ray), Brian Hannah (Dawn Marie), Caris Fairfax (Jeff) , Matt Thomas (Kelcie), Tyler Hannah (Katie), Stephen Thomas (Hannah) and Kalie Daniel (Dakota), her great grandchildren Hannah Jablonka, Sophie Jablonka, Stricklin Fairfax, Tucker Hannah, Max Hannah,Stratford Fairfax, Warren Thomas , Hudson Hannah, and John Tyler Hannah and sisters Joyce Hannah, Francis Hannah and Jean Morris, as well as nieces and nephews. Visitation at Johns-Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison, Avenue SW, Birmingham, AL 35211, will be held from ten o'clock in the morning until eleven o'clock on Thursday, December 19, 2019 followed by services in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed to Hunter Street Baptist Church or The American Cancer Society. Services are under the direction of Johns-Ridout's Elmwood Chapel (205-251-7227) in Birmingham.
