Sarah E Elliott was the daughter of William A Grissom & Lela Allgood Grissom, born on 9/3/1922 in Etowah, TN. She was the sister of Winfred M Grissom, William A Grissom & Edwin C Grissom, all now deceased.
Sarah was a graduate of John Herbert Phillips High School in Birmingham, AL. She continued her education at the University of AL in Tuscaloosa where she pursued her major in Clothing Design & Textiles as well as participated in various campus organizations & activities.
While at the University of AL, she met a young Albert A "Gus" Elliott, Jr. who later became her husband on December 15, 1945. They were married for 56 years when Gus passed in 2002.
Some of Sarah's many interest areas were sewing, needlework of all kinds, gardening, flower arranging and genealogy. She was always the family historian and photographer.
Sarah Elliott died on 1/17/2021 at the Regency Retirement Facility in Birmingham, AL. Funeral arrangements are Friday, January 22, 2012 at 2:00, at Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, AL.
Survivors include 3 children: Carolyn E Holmes of VA; Dianna E Suttle and Albert A "Skip" Elliott III both of AL. 4 grandchildren: M.G. Gray III of AR; Megan A Gray of TX; Kelly Bowers of CA and Elliott C Suttle of OH, and 4 great grandchildren: Bradley and Brandy of TX, Brendan of AR, and Michaela of CA.
