

BOONE, SUSAN GAYLE JONES, age 66 of Springville. When she went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 26, 2014, she left a hole in many lives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Carlisle Jones and Imogene Gayle Jones. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James F. "Jim" Boone; daughters, Michelle Dowler (Mark) and Kerri Abercrombie (Mike); grandchildren, Kayla Dowler, Benson Dowler, Blake Abercrombie and Jake Abercrombie; sister, Carol Jones Tucker (Gene); brothers, Steve Jones (Linda), Mike Jones (Sandra) and Walter Jones (Sharon); and a host of nieces and nephews who loved their "Aunt Gayle". Gayle was a longtime teacher at Springville Elementary and Middle Schools and well loved by her students. She was also a lifetime member of the Springville First United Methodist Church, active in many of the church's activities and organizations over the years, including her recent involvement in the "Hugs and Stitches", a prayer shawl ministry. So many talents she possessed, as someone noted, "She could do just about anything". In addition to her teaching career, she had a thriving baking business, "Cakes by Gayle" for many years and had a wallpapering business, "Paper with Class" with her sister, Carol. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 1-3 PM at Springville First United Methodist Church with her service beginning at 3 with Rev. Herb Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Springville Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor Gayle's memory, make a donation to the St. Clair County Education Foundation and to do so "in honor" of Springville Educator, Gayle Boone.
