

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Terry Alan Collier, a beloved husband, brother, and friend, who left this world on May 11, 2025, at the age of 70. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, on August 5, 1954, Terry lived a life filled with passion, adventure, and deep connections with those around him.
Terry was a proud graduate of Woodlawn High School and went on to attend Auburn University. He dedicated his professional life to office supply and furniture sales, serving his clients with diligence and a friendly demeanor until his retirement in 2019.
On May 26, 1990, Terry found his perfect partner and married Myra Birmingham in a beautiful ceremony at the Botanical Gardens. Their love story was one of shared adventures and unwavering companionship. Together, they built a life rich with experiences and cherished memories.
Terry was an enthusiastic member of the Warblers Club, Inc., where he shared his appreciation for singing and camaraderie with fellow members. His adventurous spirit shone brightly through his love for scuba diving, exploring the vibrant underwater world in numerous destinations. His passion for travel took him to breathtaking corners of the globe, including the Bahamas, Bonaire, Belize, Fiji, Mexico, Hawaii, the Florida Keys, Australia, and various islands in the South Pacific. Among all the places he visited, his heart belonged to the idyllic shores of Bora Bora in Tahiti, French Polynesia.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Grant Collier and Margaret Collier, and his brother, Dennis Alan Collier. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 35 years, Myra Birmingham Collier; his brother, Edward Grant Collier, Jr.; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss him dearly. He also leaves behind a wide circle of friends, all of whom were touched by his kindness, warmth, and genuine spirit.
Terry will be remembered as a devoted husband and a true friend, someone who embraced life with enthusiasm and left a lasting impact on everyone he knew. His adventurous soul and loving heart will be deeply missed.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel, located at 800 Dennison Ave SW, Birmingham, AL, for a visitation on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service will commence at the chapel at 2:00 pm, after which Terry will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum.
