Tonda was born October 21st, 1974 in Far Rockaway, New York to the late Mervin and Betty Banks. She was the youngest of five children, two preceded her in death.
Tonda was engaged to Marvin Goolsby and their only child was Davontae. Tonda was passionate about life, God fearing, and well educated. She had a zest for life. She loved giving of herself and her time to people, family, and friends. She loved educating herself on different cultures. She left an indelible impression on all who knew her. If you spoke to her for 5 minutes, you felt like you had known her all your life. She never met a stranger.
Tonda loved fashion, spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted fiancé, mother, sister, and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.”
Tonda’s loving spirit lives on in her child Davontae; her grandson Cameron; her fiancé Marvin; her mother and father Mervin and Betty; her brother Darrell; her sister MIranda; her brother-in-law Jeff, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
