Troy Joseph Perry

PERRY, TROY J Perry Troy Joseph Sr., 81, of Center Point, passed away Saturday at a local hospital with complications after a four year fight with Leukemia. He was a veteran who served in the United States Army and in the United States Air Force. He was a very good baseball player for the Air Force and for years in leagues around the Birmingham Area. He was retired from Frito-Lay were he was recognized for 45 years of service. He was a member of Saint Paul's UMC for 45 years and was a 4 year member of First United Methodist Church Center Point. He was an active volunteer with Eastern Area Christian Ministries handing out food to the needy. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by his family, friends and the people whose lives he touched. He especially loved the people of First United Methodist Church Center Point. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Hazel Perry. His son, Troy Joseph Perry, Jr. and four grand children: Elizabeth Diane Perry, Troy Joseph Perry III, Emma Grace Perry, Allison Frye and one sister Betty Ruth Houston. He was preceded in death by his mother Dolly Perry father James Dewey Perry, brothers Charles Perry of Birmingham, Aaron Perry of York PA, and James A. Perry of New Orleans LA., and sister Emma Lou Perry Davis of Birmingham. Visitation will be at Ridout's Trussville Chapel 1500 Gadsden Highway Birmingham AL 35235 between 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday September 15. Memorial Services will be held at Ridout's Trussville Chapel 1500 Gadsden Highway Birmingham AL 35235 at 3:00 pm on Friday September 16 with graveside service at Forrest Hill Cemetery following the service.
