Victoria Vivienne Sanderson, age 25 weeks, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama died June 7, 2023. Victoria was born on December 14, 2022, to Victor and Bea Sanderson of Vestavia Hills, Alabama. She was the beloved little sister of Ainsley Adelaide Sanderson (age 7), Miles Gunnar Sanderson (age 5), and Sloane Everleigh-Bea Sanderson (age 3).
Victoria is survived by her Godmother Aunt Angie Sanderson of Hoover, Alabama who loved her like her own child; her grandparents Miles (Pop) and Jolene (Mammie) Sanderson of Hoover, Alabama; her Aunt and Uncle Rhonda and Peter Kanakis, and their children/cousins Gia and Alec of Vestavia Hills, Alabama; her Aunt and late Uncle Mila and Ross Comeaux and their children/cousins, Cora and Evie of Brentwood, Tennessee. Other survivors include her grandparents Dr. Vichai (Granpy) and Chaluai (Teddy Graham) Chaicharncheep of Missouri City, Texas; her Uncle Dr. Thomas (Tom) Chai of Missouri City, Texas; and her Uncle Dr. Gerald (Gerry) Chai of Atlanta, Georgia.
Victoria was born on a Wednesday morning to the wonderful and caring staff of the UAB Women’s and Infants Center and their supporting neonatology staff at the NICU, including Children’s of Alabama. Victoria stayed roughly 100 days in the NICU. She was born with a rare condition called trisomy 18. God provided her with an abundance of beauty and unconditional love. Her name means Queen of Life, and that is how she was viewed by all. Victoria loved to be held and would demand to be held if you were in the room with her. We had amazing help with care during Victoria’s life and would like to especially thank Mrs. Keri Hall for all the time that she spent with Victoria and our children. She loved being around her brother and sisters, the many car rides with the family, our restaurant dinners out, listening to music in her crib, and her time spent outside with family and friends. Victoria impacted many lives and will continue to do so as she looks down from Heaven as our own little Guardian Angel. Victoria departed for Heaven on another Wednesday surrounded by all the people that she truly loved, her family.
A private visitation and mass for Victoria will be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Friday, June 9, 2023. Fr. Jim Booth, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, will officiate the service, with burial following at Elmwood Cemetery. Flower donations can be sent directly to the church located at 1460 Pearson Avenue SW, Birmingham, AL 35211, along with any charitable donations made to the church “in memory of” Victoria Vivienne Sanderson.
“ Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. May the soul of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.”
