

Wanda Gail Corley, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 7, 2021. She was born on February 10, 1941 in Harlan, Kentucky. Ms. Corley was preceded in death by her father, John Edwin Cole, Sr., her mother, Dorothy Rae Adams Cole, her sister, Ann Linnette Cole and her great-grandson, William Rhett Lynn.
She is survived by her brother, John Edwin Cole, Jr (Hannah), her son, James Glenn Corley (Julie), her daughter, Lisa Linnette Corley, grand-daughter, Jordan Corley Franklin (Jarrett), grand-daughter, Ali Dunaway (Nathan), grand-daughter, Ashley Corley Lynn (Chase), grand-sons, Alex Garrison Corley (Katie), Harrison Richard Wood, Hudson Barnett Wood and Wesley Shon Corley, and nine great-grandchildren: Elijah Edward Lynn, Evelyn Grace Dunaway, Jase Adams Franklin, Eden Faith Dunaway, Robert Alten Franklin, Emery Hope Dunaway, Quinn Annalyse Franklin, Daniel Coleman Dunaway and Charlotte Elizabeth Corley.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Center Point for over 40 years. She was currently attending First Baptist Church of Trussville. Ms. Corley worked for Southern Research Institute for over 30 years. She was a devoted follower of Christ and loved her family and friends with all of her heart. She will be greatly missed by many.
A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the chapel of Johns Ridout's Elmwood Chapel located at 800 Dennison Ave. SW Birmingham, Al. 35211. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 11:00am in the chapel of Johns Ridout's Elmwood Chapel with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
