William Earl Kidd

William attended and graduated from Patton Elementary and Hayes High School in the Birmingham Public School System. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Daniel Payne College.

In August of 1968, he was inducted in the United States Army, where he served for 2 years in Viet Nam. After returning home he joined the Alabama National Guard for many years.

William accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Healing Spring Baptist Church.

William was employed at Dr. Pepper, South Highlands, Health South, UAB Highland Hospital and part-time at Weiss Security until his death. He worked at South Highlands for over 37 years where he met so many friends and co-workers.

William and Meloney Bass met and were married for 38 years. To that union one daughter was born, Lauren Kidd.

William went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2021 at the VA Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

William leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Meloney, daughter, Lauren, son William(Ragina), Sister, Margret Anne Kidd, Sister-In-law, Colleen Williams of Cleveland, Ohio, 3 grandchildren Jalen, Paige and Taylor, 3 nieces, 7 nephews,11 great nieces, 6 great nephews, 5 great great nieces and 4 great great nephews, 2 God daughters, Kenadi and Bella and a special pet~Tigger as well as a host of loving family and friends.
