William R. (Bill) Shook

William R. (Bill) Shook, age 84, of Birmingham, passed away on October 31, 2016. He is survived by his wifeof 25 years, Vickie Shook;sons, Alan Shook (Alice) of Jonesborough, TN., Wayne Shook (Jan) of Helena, AL., Kenneth Shook of Oneonta, Al.; daughter, Leigh Anne Williams of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; step daughter, Tina Bowe(Stephen) of Attalla, Al.; step son, Mark Garmany (Sharon) of Rainbow City, Al., sister, Barbara Shook of Challis, Idaho; 4 grandsons; 4 granddaughters; 1 great granddaughter; 2 step- grandsons; 2 step granddaughters; 3 step great granddaughters; 1 step great grandson; brother-in–law, Kenneth Garrett; and a host of nieces and nephews.William served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve during the Korean War. William was a devoted company man with Bellsouth for 40 years. After retiring from there, he continued working at Taylor Electronic for 10 years. While working for Bellsouth,he became a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a member of Clearbranch United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Mr. Shook life will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel Thursday November 3, 2016 from 6:00– 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be Friday November 4, 2016 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family would like to send a special Thanks to all of the personnel at Healthcare Inc Ashville. Active and Honorary Pallbearers are Zach Shook, Jake Shook, Hayden Shook, Chad Williams, Kevin Humphrey, Matt Humphrey, Kenneth Garrett, Stephen Bowen and Dennis Bone.
