William Rawlings

William Rice Rawlings of Odenville, Al passed away on December 23, 2024 at 82 years of age. He was preceded in death by his wife Charline Rawlings and parents Henry Rice and Eunice Rawlings. He is survived by daughter Belinda Morrison; grand children Carl Logan Williams, Grayce Laine Hersey, Christopher Lochlan Willams, and Greyson Williams; great-grandchildren Maeve Elizabeth Hersey, Harlan Theodore Hersey and Severin Nicole Williams; sister Inez Persall; and brother Danny Rawlings.

William and Charline were married July 11,1959 until her death on August 4, 2023. William was an architect by profession. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed.

William especially cared for his family spiritually. William, like his wife Charline, was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. They attended meetings for Bible study together and were active in many ways in their congregation. He always enjoyed talking with others about the Bible. While spending the last few months in a nursing facility, he placed Bibles and Bible literature with those around him. Even though he had lost his sight, he could still talk to people about the Bible.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Williams Cemetery in Columbiana.
