A lifelong resident of Pinson, Cobb was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in the Railroad Battalion in Europe. His life’s work was carpentry in Jefferson and surrounding counties. He worked out of Carpenter’s union #127 until retirement in the mid 1980’s. After retirement, he maintained a garden, until age 92.
He was preceded in death by, his parents, Naomi Hamric Cornelius and John Marion Cornelius; sister, Martha Ellie Hamer; and brothers, John Marion Cornelius, Jr. and Gerald Ray Cornelius.
He is survived by his wife, Eula Maude Dunham Cornelius; children, Larry Cornelius (Sandra), Peggy Blackwell (Terry), Leon Dunham (Linda) and Brenda Jenkins (Ricky); 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 6th at 11:30 a.m. from Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Burial will follow in Marvin’s Chapel Cemetery in Pinson. Visitation will also be held on Friday, from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m.
