
Zachary Daniel Day, age 26, passed away unexpectedly in July, 2011. Zachary was a charter member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church founded in Montgomery, Alabama in 1991 and a 2003 graduate of Booker T. Washington Magnet High School. Zach graduated in 2008 from University of Alabama with majors in Religious Studies and Anthropology and was awarded the Silverstein Scholarship from the Religious Studies Department. He was employed by the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
He is survived by his father Charles L. Day (Nancy Campbell) of Tuscaloosa, his mother, Deborah Rhodes Day of Birmingham, sister Ashley Day of Brooklyn, NY, brother Matthew Day (Michelle) of Avon, CT, and grandmother Juanice Day Hathcock (James) of Tuscaloosa as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece, and a nephew. He is preceded in death by grandparents Margaret Gunn Rhodes and James W. Rhodes of Birmingham and Elmer Day of Mobile, and an aunt, Donna Rhodes Burke of Birmingham.
He was dearly and deeply loved by a large family and many friends and colleagues.
A celebration of Zachary's life will be held at Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Avenue, Birmingham, AL 35211.
