

Betty C. Wiley, age 79, of Bloomington, died Saturday morning at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born December 25, 1935 in Kokomo, Indiana, she was the daughter of Gerald and Joan (Castello) Dillman. She was the Valedictorian of Kokomo High School, Class of 1953 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a Master in Education, both from Indiana University. She had taught primarily English in the M.C.C.S.C. in Bloomington and the Huntington Learning Center as well as doing homebound tutoring. She loved to write, play the piano, paint, study history, teach figure skating and gardening. She especially had a love for animals and donated regularly to animal welfare organizations. She was Phi Beta Kappa at Indiana University
Betty is survived by her four daughters, Kimberly Wiley, of New Orleans, Louisiana; Jessica Van Lerberghe ; of Shakopee, Minnesota; Jennifer Cherpes; of Sterling, Virginia and Laura Schleifer of Castro Vallley, California and four grandchildren, Ethan Willnat, Sonja Willnat, Lauren Van Lerberghe and Kara Van Lerberghe. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David A. Wiley, on November 7, 2004 and her brother, David Dillman.

There will be no services or visitation at this time. Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
