Charles "Chip" Robert Ellis II

Charles Robert “Chip” Ellis II, age 54, of Bloomington, died Monday (02/04/2019) at his residence. He was born February 12, 1964 in Indianapolis. He owned Ellis Construction. A life-long resident of Bloomington, he attended Bloomington High School-South. He graduated in 1982. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting, mushroom hunting and skydiving. He is survived by his three daughters, Tiffany Ellis and Brandy Ellis, both of Indianapolis and Brooke Ellis, of Orlando, Florida, his sister, Lauri Wright, of Houston, Texas; two step-sisters, Lynn Pelley, of Speedway, Indiana and Brenda Herman, of Detroit, Michigan; six grandchildren, Arrian, Kendahl, D.J., Cam, Cali, and Jordan, his step-mother, Shirley (Howard) Ellis, of Venice, Florida and several cousins. Chip was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Charles R. Ellis I and his mother, Julieanne Gillespie. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St.. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the charity of one’s choice.
