Dacia Meshelle Roberts, age 35, of Bloomington passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. She was born July 30, 1989 in Bloomington, Indiana, the daughter of Glen A. Johnson and Gina K. (Roberts) Benson and beloved daughter of John W. Benson Sr.
Dacia attended Monroe County Community Schools, later graduated and received her diploma. She pursued jobs in food service and housekeeping. Dacia was always happy to meet new people and could always make you smile with her witty sense of humor. Dacia loved being around people and people loved her. She also enjoyed watching a good movie, learning how to grow vegetables from seeds, and relaxing with her dogs. Dacia loved going to church, going on walks, and she truly loved the Lord. She also enjoyed reading her Bible and talking about what she learned. Most of all she adored spending time with her three (3) sons.
Survivors are sons, Kanye M. Roberts-Gray, Alijah J. Beckum and Rueben E.M. Roberts-Tucker, mother, Gina Benson, daddy, John W. Benson, father, Glen Johnson, brothers, Brent (Tameka) Roberts, DeShawn Benson and Brice Roberts, her grandmother whom she affectionately called “MeMe”, Donna Roberts, of Muncie, Indiana and eleven nieces and nephews.
Dacia was preceded in death by her step-brother, John W. Benson, Jr., of Atlanta, great-grandmother, Harriett M. Hill, of Muncie and uncle, Kevin Johnson, of Louisiana.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5 at the Lighthouse Community Church. Friends may visit the family on Friday, October 4 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home.
