Donald Eugene Donham

Donald Eugene Donham, age 92 of Bloomington, peacefully passed away Friday morning, April 3, 2026 at the Richland Bean Blossom Healthcare Center. Born December 9, 1933 in Terre Haute, he was the son of George L. and Emma (Kadel) Donham. He attended University High School – Bloomington, IN graduating in 1952. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1956. He was a life member of Beta Sigma Psi. Most of his professional life was spent at Crane Naval Weapons Support Center, retiring in March 1989. Don was a faithful Charter Member of Faith Lutheran Church. In the church he participated in many bible study groups, the JOY Group, and was a long-time member of the church choir. In his younger years, he was an active member of the Jaycees and the Lions Club. In retirement he delivered flowers in Bloomington, and was a courier for a local bank. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Janet Sue Donham. He is survived by his children: Scott (Shiela) Donham, Elizabeth (Dave) Biszantz, Michael (Julie) Donham, and Brian (Sherrie) Donham. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren – Ryan Biszantz, Erica Biszantz (Jimmy) Clapper, Matthew (Sarah) Donham, Jacob Donham, Allison Donham (Josh) Totten, Andrew Donham and Alexandra Donham: Four great grandsons – Evan, Luke and Drew Clapper, and Graham Totten. He is also survived by his sister Martha Elliott, sister-in-law Diana Martin, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 8th at the Faith Lutheran Church. Entombment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington, IN. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 7th from 5 PM - 7 PM at the Day and Deremiah Frye Funeral Home. There will also be visitation prior to the service on Wednesday from 10 AM - 11AM at Faith Lutheran Church.
