Douglas "Doug" Ray Anderson

Douglas Ray “Doug” Anderson, age 62, of Bloomington, died Monday afternoon (09/10) at the I.U. Health Bloomington Hospice House. Born May 9, 1956 in Bloomington, he was the son of Richard W. and Ruby Glodyne (Payne) Anderson. Doug was an engineer with Vectren (Indiana Gas Company). He also co-owned Anderson Excavating and Lawn Care Service. Doug was an antique car and truck enthusiast and loved attending Barrett-Jackson auctions in Las Vegas. He also enjoyed bush hogging and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Doug was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church in Dolan. Doug is survived by his loving wife, Carole (Richardson) Anderson, of Bloomington; his mother, Ruby Glodyne Anderson, of Bloomington; two daughters, Shannon (Mikey) Jones, of Bloomington and Michelle (Rick) Moore, of Bloomington and one son, Nathan (Emily) Anderson, of Bloomington; one sister, Shirley (Raymond) Hankins, of Conway, Arkansas and three grandchildren, Riley, Kayla, and Josie. Doug was preceded in death by his father and one sister, LeAnna Beth Anderson. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home at 4150 E. Third St. with Pastor Rick Armoire officiating. Burial will follow at Payne Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the New Prospect Baptist Church or Maple Grove Christian Church.
