

Elizabeth “Betty” Ellett, age 91, of Bloomington, died Monday morning at the Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford. Born April 21, 1921 in Bramble, Indiana she was the daughter of Richard and Emma (Strange) Jones. She attended Bramble Elementary School and graduated in 1939 from St. John’s Catholic High School in Loogootee. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Bloomington. She married her husband Carl Ellett in 1942 and they had 59 lovely years together. She and Carl spent many happy years on Lake Lemon with their camper and pontoon boat.
She is survived by six sons and their spouses; Tony and Lori Ellett, of Bloomington, Mike and Mickey Ellett, of Williams, Gary and Becky Ellett, of Greenwood, Steve and Debbie Ellett, of Kenwood, Michigan and Louisville, Kentucky and Terry Ellett and Ron Ellett, both of Bloomington; one daughter-in-law, Carol Ellett, of Bloomington; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Pershing Jones of Loogootee, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Mary Lee Farr, of Weatherford, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Marge Ellett, of Bloomington and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Carl, in 2001, one son, Bill Ellett, daughter-in-law, Rose Ellett, mother-in-law, Mildred Ellett, three sisters and five brothers.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Tom Kovatch officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family at Day Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M.where a Rosary will be recited and on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
