Elsie Alice Evans

Elsie Alice Evans(Marlin) of Bloomington was born on October 12, 1923 in Bloomington, IN and died on June 24, 2012 in IU Health Bloomington Health Hospice.Elsie was an author, an artist and an accomplished musician and was a charter member of Husmour Home Ec Club. She was a member if Little Union Baptist Church and a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary. In the past she was a board member of the American Baptist General Board and traveled back and forth to Valley Forge, PA.

Elsie is survived by her husband Jack of 66 years, sisters Ester Newton, Audrey Whitaker, Ann Robertson and June Presnell; brothers Don Marlin, Keith Marlin and Gene Marlin. She is also survived by her five children; Connie(husband Dale)Conard, Elaine(husband Jack)Prince, Peggy(husband Alan)Dick, Randy Evans and Brad Evans, 14 grandchildren,18 great-grandchildren (one of whom is deceased) and 1 great-great grandchild. Elsie was preceded in death by her sister Gladys Marlin and four brothers; Gilbert Marlin, Ray Marlin, Joe Marlin and Bobby Marlin.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. in Day Funeral HOme, 4150 E 3rd St., Bloomington, IN 47401. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. also in the funeral home. Burial in Payne Cemetery.
