Janet Sue Donham, age 88, of Bloomington, peacefully passed away Thursday morning, February 6, 2025 at the Richland Bean Blossom Health Care Center. She was born July 21, 1936 in Bloomington and was the daughter of Henry Kimmel Martin and Desiree (Ramsey) Martin.
Janet was a floral designer at the The Bouquet Shop, the family owned business. She worked there until they closed in 1994. Janet was a faithful and long- time member of Faith Lutheran Church where she participated in the church choir and coordinated many wonderful outings for the JOY (Joyous Older Youth) Group. She was a lifetime member and past-president of Delta Theta Tau sorority, Zeta Chapter. With this group, she spent many hours at the Monroe County Fair, working at the Dairy Bar and making her "famous" sloppy joes. Janet spent many years volunteering at the Opportunity House, where she also served as a manager. A lifetime of friendships were so special in her beloved Bridge Group (AKA Motor Mouth Lassies). In her early years, she supported her children and had fun being their Cub Scout and Brownie leader. She enjoyed living in Ellettsville on the farm with her family, riding and caring for her horses. She had a soft spot for her animals, with a special attachment to her granddog Tucker.
She loved to cook, along with listening to music, dancing and spending time with her family, who affectionately called her "Mom" and "Grammy".
Janet is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Donald E. Donham, whom she married in 1955, her children; Scott (Shiela) Donham, Elizabeth (Dave) Biszantz, Mike (Julie) Donham and Brian (Sherrie) Donham; seven grandchildren, Ryan Biszantz, Erica Biszantz (Jimmy) Clapper, Matthew (Sarah) Donham, Jacob Donham, Allison Donham (Josh) Totten, Andrew Donham and Alexandra Donham; three great-grandchildren, Evan, Luke and Drew Clapper, and baby boy Totten on the way.
She is also survived by her sister, Diana Martin and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
