
Jerry Edward Potter, 82, of Bloomington died Friday, December 14, 2018 in I.U. Health Hospice House. He was born April 21, 1936 in Bloomington to William Newton Potter and Beryl Edna Hinkle Potter. He was a retired transport driver for various student rental facilities and nursing homes and had worked as a security guard for the Fourwinds Resort and ASI.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Pearl Lowe Potter of Bloomington; a daughter, Lori (Scott) Smith of Bedford; four sons, Robert Potter, William (Patricia) Potter and Daniel Treadway all of Bloomington and Matthew Treadway of Indianapolis; a brother, Kenneth Potter of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sarah Hostetler and Margaret Kirkpatrick; three brothers, Larry Potter, James Potter and William Potter; a son, Michael Potter; and 1 granddaughter.
Jerry was of the Methodist Faith. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed going there on Wednesday nights to play euchre. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served with the Military Police in Germany and enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels at his birdfeeders.
There are no services planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home.
