Karen Irene Prince, 62 of Bloomington, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on July 27, 2019. Karen was born on December 18, 1956. She was the daughter of the late Orval and Mary (Spears) Butcher.
Karen married Robbin Prince on October 2, 1976. He preceded her in death in 2017.
Karen worked for 18 years at PTS Electronics as a Lead Tech before suffering a severe stroke at the age of 39 that left her disabled. Even though she was wheelchair bound, Karen always had a smile on her face, hugs for all of her family and friends and had an optimistic, positive attitude toward life. She loved to sit outside and watch the birds and loved her dog Champ and grand-dogs Isabel and Willow.
Karen is survived by her two sons, Steve Prince and Jesse (wife Becca) Prince; two brothers, David (wife Twyla) Butcher and Danny (wife Carmen) Butcher and two grandchildren, Chris and Haley Prince.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robbin Prince, her parents Orval and Mary Butcher and her brother Roger Butcher.
Visitation for Karen will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third St., Bloomington, Indiana 47401. The funeral service for Karen will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 2 p.m. also in the funeral home. Burial will be in Clover Hill Cemetery.
