

Kathryn P. Day, 85, of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011. Born January 20, 1925 in Harrodsburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of Walter and Stella (Strain) McGlothlin. She was the niece, by marriage, to Arthur Day, the Founder of Day Funeral Home.
Kathryn grew up in a large family of seven children. She spent most of her life in Bloomington where she married after WWII and raised her family. She was a homemaker, worked for Bynum Office Supply, at Bloomington National Bank as a bank teller, and various sororities before she retired. She loved to make quilts and crochet. She also dearly loved spending time with her granddaughter. She was a member of the Unionville Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Day of Stockton, California, daughter Carol Ellison and her granddaughter, Courtney Ellison, both of Bloomington, sister, Maxine (Hardy) Stampe of Winter Haven, Florida, and brother, Wyatt McGlothlin of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 52 years, Dale R. Day of Bloomington, two brothers, Herschel McGlothlin of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Rufus McGlothlin of Bloomington, and two sisters, Wilma Southern and Lula Crum, both of Bloomington.
Visitation and Funeral services will be held at Day Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 19 from 5-9pm, and Funeral services will be Thursday, January 20 at 10am with Minister Allen Ketchersid officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery.
