Max M. Scott

Max M. Scott, 87 of Bloomington, died Monday December 26th, 2011. Max was born in Jamestown, IN. to James Orie and Opal (Armstrong) Scott.

The family moved to Danville, Indiana where max grew up. He graduated from Danville High School with the class of 1942. Immediately after graduation he joined the Coast Guard where he served from 1942 to 1946. He and Alice were married in 1947 in Danville, In., they were married 64 yrs.

After his service days he enrolled at Rose-Hulman in Terre Haute, IN. . His first job after graduation was with U.S. Steel in western Pensylvania area. On vacation one year he and Alice decided to come back to Indiana. He started looking around and got a job with Rogers Group in Bloomington where he worked until his retirement in 1990.

He and Alice lived in Boulder City, Nevada for 14 yrs., Before coming back to Indiana to be with family. He is survived by his wife, Alice Scott of Bloomington; his brother Donald Scott and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Michael.

Funeral services will be at Day Funeral Home Thursday at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Frank Van Allen presiding. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home Wednesday 5-8 P.M. and 1 hour before services on Thursday.
