
Robert Dale Clutter, Sr., 88 of Bloomington died Thursday evening in Meadowood Health Pavilion. He was born August 28, 1925 in Claysville, PA to Robert L. Clutter and Anna M. Stollar Clutter. Robert served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II as a tail gunner on a B-24 and was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries sustained. He began his career with RCA in Canonsburg, PA in 1951 before retiring as a Quality Control Manager in 1985. Robert was a member of the Sycamore Gun Club and liked to work with metal and wood and liked to invent things.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jane Church Clutter; a daughter, Rhonda Clutter; a brother, Vance L. Clutter; a sister, Wilma Beattie; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son; Robert Dale Clutter, Jr.; two sisters, Zelma Jean and Opal Six; a sister-in-law, Loretta Clutter; and two brothers-in-law, John Six and Jim Beattie.
There will be no service or visitation per his request. Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. If friends so desire, Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
