Roy Gene is survived by brothers Raymond (Judy) Taylor of Bloomington, Indiana, Kenneth (Donna) Taylor of Unionville, Indiana, and Rodney (Virginia) Taylor of Crystal River, Florida. Sisters Frances and Thelma Taylor of Bloomington, Indiana and several very special nieces and nephews.
Roy Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harlen (Toots) Taylor, niece Lisa Taylor Bowlen, and Great Nephew Michael Hodge.
Roy Gene had many loves in his life: First was Elvis with “All Shook Up” being his favorite. He loved to dance also. Secondly, he loved his family and never met a stranger. He was the most content with a handful of change and a good cup of coffee. Lastly, he loved telling jokes and if there were ladies present, he would always say, “It is clean.”
Roy Gene was tough having suffered a traumatic brain injury at the age of nineteen in a car accident, but he never let that stop him from living a full life.
One of the last days before he passed, we asked him how he was and he responded, “I’m Good and Thank the Lord for that.” We thank the Lord for our brother, we will miss him, but we know he is at peace and home with the Lord.
A visitation for family and friends for Roy will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E 3rd St, Bloomington, Indiana 47401, followed by a funeral service and life celebration at 1:00 PM.
