Billy (“Bill”) Eugene Webb was born December 13, 1943 and raised in Kirkland, Washington to Ordelle (May Young) Webb and Claude Everett Webb. A graduate of Lake Washington High School, he joined the Air Force and served in the Korean War.
Bill worked for Mutual Materials for 20 years and later worked for Boeing where he took an early retirement.
As a boy, Bill loved horseback riding, swimming and dogs. Growing up in downtown Kirkland, he loved to tell stories of all the adventures he had with his brother, Jerry. In 1974, he married Rachel Rosales Webb and had four children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his children play in sports and took the family on numerous camping trips, notably at Westport, WA, for years.
Bill was a true outdoorsman and nature lover. He was drawn to either the ocean, lakes or mountains when he took his family on vacations. His hobbies were hunting, salmon or trout fishing, clam digging and crabbing. His children also fondly remember day-trips over the mountains and back, boating in the San Juans and Lake Sammamish, and annual Webb family reunions at Camano Island.
He loved dirt bike motorcycling and went often with his sons or his friends to ride down the local gravel pits. Following retirement, he went snow-mobiling near Fish Lake (by Leavenworth) every year with his kids.
An avid archer, he hunted elk and deer with his trusty bow and arrow. Every bit was eaten, made into leather jackets and something practical like a hat or key rack. He also enjoyed collecting precious stones, gems, and coins and was a brilliant wood carver. Much of his furniture at home was made and designed from trees right out of his very own yard. Bill even made an elaborate playground for his children when they were small which included a tree house, swing, log walk and a zip line between two trees on his large wooded, lush property.
Bill is survived by Rachel Webb, his children, Jim, Bill and Tanya and their respective families and his brother Jerry Webb and family. He also has a deceased son, Ward, whose ashes will be buried with him.
Services will be held at the Woodinville Cemetery on May 1st at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make donations to the Seattle Children's Hospital where Bill was a donor over the years.
