September 4, 1983 – January 28, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Hetukumar Mistry, who left us peacefully on January 28, 2025, at the age of 41, in Seattle, Washington, USA. Hetu was born on September 4, 1983, in Gozaria, Mehsana, Gujrat, India, and is survived by his devoted parents, Arvindkumar and Rekhaben Mistry.
From a young age, Hetu stood out not only as a diligent and studious child but also as a mentor to his peers. He was the kind of student who not only excelled in his own studies but also dedicated time to helping others succeed. His passion for education and self-improvement was evident as he organized study groups for his friends, turning those sessions into opportunities for guidance and encouragement. This nurturing spirit carried on throughout his life.
Hetu’s academic journey was nothing short of extraordinary. After completing his high school education at Sir CJ High School in India, he went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from D.Y. Patil College of Engineering. His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue multiple master's degrees from esteemed universities across the United States, including Chicago, Arizona, and Bentley. His pursuit of knowledge was never just for his own benefit but was a way for him to impact and inspire others.
His love for travel was unmatched. Hetu believed that “Travel is the only currency which makes you richer,” and it was through his travels that he gained new perspectives, explored diverse cultures, and broadened his horizons. He also had a passion for trying new cuisines and staying deeply engaged in global politics, always eager to discuss ideas with anyone who shared his interest. But above all, he had a deep commitment to education and was passionate about helping others, especially during their critical academic moments. While pursuing his master's studies, he worked as a tutor, touching the lives of many students and guiding them as they navigated important junctures in their careers.
Hetu was known for his warm and caring personality. His natural tendency to help others was balanced with a direct and honest approach, always providing thoughtful guidance in the most transparent way possible. He lived with an open heart, and his cheerful demeanor and generosity of spirit touched everyone he met.
Hetu was a devoted son who held an irreplaceable bond with his mother. Every day, without fail, he would speak to her, reminding her of his love and deep appreciation. His kindness, compassion, and integrity will forever be cherished by his family and all those whose lives he touched.
In honor of Hetu's legacy, we request that memorial contributions be made to the Care for Children organization supporting underprivileged children in their educational pursuits, continuing the path of guidance, mentorship, and support Hetu passionately followed during his life.
Hetu's life was one of dedication, service, and unwavering love for learning and others. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, the students he mentored, and the love he shared.
May his soul rest in peace.
