John was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the son of the late William Poole and wife Frances Poole. He served in the United States Army for 22 years, served 2 tours in Vietnam, was a Tank Commander on M551 Sheridans, a Crew Chief of UH1 and AH1 attack helicopters, where he was the gunner. He was Airborne and a Jump Master. John was a decorated combat veteran, awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Poole, in Bothell, WA, two sons, Michael Poole of Honolulu, HI, and Douglas Poole of Mill Creek, WA, one daughter, Kristen Poole of Donnellson, Iowa, one brother Ronald Poole of Bellevue, WA, 8 grandchildren, and other family members and friends who will dearly miss him.
The funeral service will be held at Lifetime Celebrations By Washelli, 18224 103rd Ave. N.E., Bothell, WA (425) 486-1281on Friday, February 6, at Noon.
