Marcella Irene Shelley

Marcella (known as Sally) attended country school at Victory#7 and graduated from Panora High School in 1941. She also graduated in Bookkeeping from AIB College in Des Moines, Iowa.

Sally married Warren (Bob)Shelley May 17,1942. To this union two daughters were born, Judith Shelley Allemang and Karen Shelley Stevens. They also were parents to Bob’s niece and nephew Carol Ann Shelley Winters and James Edward Shelley.

After Bob returned from the Army in World War II the family lived on the farm north of Guthrie Center. Marcella worked for 10 years in the locker plant and then 10 years for the Farm Bureau office in Guthrie Center. She retired in 1970 from the Farm Bureau office and moved to Ackley, Iowa where they bought a business. Later they moved to Texas where the purchased a motel. After selling the motel they traveled visiting all 50 states, Mexico and Canada. Settling in Edinburg, Texas, Sally did volunteer income tax work for five years.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband Bob; parents Brothers George, Joseph, and Harry. Sisters Maisie and Zynaga, Twyla and granddaughter Kerri Allemang Hawkins.

Marcella is survived by her daughters Judith Allemang (Duane) and Karen Stevens. Her grandchildren Theresa Bergum (Rick), Venita Sheridan (Matt), Jeffrey Betts (Julie), Amy Rodriguez (Ricardo), Robert Allemang (Malia), Kathy Wells (Terry), Angela Kovacs. Her great grandchildren Katie and Devon Bergum, Samantha, Lola and Vanessa Sheridan, Dominic, Finnley and Bowen Betts, Kellashandra Gnos (Chris) and Keegan Hawkins, Isaac, Emilio, Marcello, and Lucas Rodriguez, Jacob and Tyler Wells, Marcello Rodriguez, Lucas Rodriguez, Bennett Wells, Dane Allemang.

Her great great grandchildren Payton Lemay, Eisha, Macks, Mason Gnos.
