

Martha Jean Klingler passed away on January 7, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born on January 19, 1933. She was born in Seattle, WA. She passed away peacefully, at her home at Ida Culver House Broadview, Seattle, WA.
Martha is proceeded in death by her daughters Karen Jean Klingler, (Richland, WA) And Tracy Klingler McLean (Beaverton, OR), Her husband Reverend Willard Daniel Klingler, (Lynnwood, WA) her brother John Richard Coolick, (Seal Beach, CA) her parents, Frank Joseph Coolick, and Mary Delia Lundborg, (Tacoma, WA).
Martha is survived by daughter Susan Marie Klingler (Bothell), Granddaughters Margo Calhoun,(Orlando FL), Mary Martha Calhoun, (Eugene, OR), and her nephew Frank Joseph Coolick (Mason City, Iowa).
A Celebration of Life is being held January 20, 2026 12-2 pm, At Ida Culver House Broadview, 12505 Greenwood Avenue N, B Building, Seattle, WA 98133.

Martha had a great enthusiasm for life and health, and all people. She graduated from PLU with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was an Elementary teacher over 40 years, and excelled at her work, with passion and excitement.
Martha loved sports of all kinds, especially Football, both the Huskies, (Dan her husband graduated UW) and the Seahawks, Mariners, Enjoyed basketball. She proudly dressed in Purple, anytime the Dawgs were playing. Likewise, on a Seahawks game day, Blue and Green, and of course for the Mariners, Teal and Blue. She told her daughters, every Fall: “I just LOVE Football!” Martha loved music and singing, was a choir member most of her life. She loved the outdoors and hiking and camping. She and Dan Camped until they were nearly 80.
Martha loved beauty, was a art minor, loved clothes, decorating and flowers, Cooking, and baking, was a Fantastic cook!
Martha met and married Dan Klingler in 1956. After Dan graduated from UW he felt called to the ministry. The couple went to San Francisco Theological Seminary after marrying. They had their first daughter Karen in San Rafael, CA. After graduating from SFTS they lived in Woodland, WA, until Dan became an associate pastor at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church. At Mercer Island, WA both Susan and Tracy were born. The couple went on to serve Presbyterian Churches in Black Diamond, WA, Kirkland, WA, Jerome, ID, Scottsbluff, NE, and finally as an interim in Redmond, OR. During their time in Nebraska, their first granddaughter, Margo was born. After they arrived in Bend, OR where they resided, Mary Martha, their second granddaughter, was born. The couple did extensive travel during their NE, OR years, and some more local travels from Lynnwood.
The couple finally returned home to the Seattle area in 2012, to Lynnwood, WA. Dan passed in 2016 at home. Martha moved to ICHB in 2022.
Martha’s Swedish Grandmother, called her “Marta” which is why she chose that as her name here at ICHB. Dan also enjoyed the old tune called “Mostly Martha” Martha often called herself “Mostly” when signing her family texts. She was a loved and treasured mother, wife, friend, aunt, Grandmother, neighbor.
