
Anthony “Tony” James McNamara of Boulder, Colorado passed away at home on September 23, 2010 at the age of 70. Tony was born in New York City on July 23, 1940 to Anthony James McNamara and Eleanor Nordstrom McNamara. He spent his early years in the Hudson Valley where he completed his apprenticeship and joined Local 201 Plumbers & Steamfitters. He received his degree in Business Administration from Columbia College. Tony’s love for the outdoors and travel brought him to Colorado where he supported his passion for skiing by teaching at Colorado Mountain College. From that point on, Tony used his education and work experience to secure positions that allowed him to travel and experience the world. Tony never stuck to the main road in life or travel. He embraced the challenge in taking a new approach or, at the very least, the path less traveled in everything he did.
He married Virginia Eagan in 1960. They had three children, Mark Anthony, Kelly Ann, and Darin James. He married Sharon Nilges in 1980. They had one son, Christopher Cary. He married Louann Hagge on October 12, 1996 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. They resided in Boulder and Cheyenne, WY where they were members of St.Mary’s Cathedral.
Tony is survived by his wife, Louann and stepdaughter, Diane Hagge Horak; brother Tom (Sharon) McNamara of Poughkeepsie, NY; sisters Eleanor (Frank) Gohl of Poughkeepsie, NY; and Kathleen Bushy of Wilmington, NY; sons Mark (Kathleen) McNamara of Newburgh, NY, Kelly (Jim) Bohlinger of Hyde Park, NY; grandsons, Theodore, Ian and Aiden; granddaughters Erin, Claire and Karly and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Timothy, and granddaughters Amber, Lillian and Audrey. According to his wishes, cremation has occurred and no services are planned. Arrangements under the direction of Crist Mortuary, Boulder, CO.
