It is with great sadness that we announce Daniel Anthony Lopez, 29, affectionately referred to as 'Fathead' by his mother, passed away from a chronic heart condition on Tuesday, December 21st, 2021 at his home in Longmont, CO. Danny was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 12th, 1992. He was the only child of Christopher and Carmen Irish of Longmont, CO, and Engelberto Lopez of Brooklyn, NY, and only grandchild of Janice Irish of Dacono, CO. He graduated from Boulder High School and attended Front Range Community College, after which he worked as an IT professional in the tech industry. Danny spent much of his time riding dirt bikes with his father and friends, working on his collection of cars, and playing his music far too loudly in public. He took great pride in his Puerto Rican heritage and held his childhood home of New York City in special regard; he was rarely seen without a NY emblem. Danny prized family and friends above all else, and his practice of friendship continues to humble and inspire those who remember him. His laugh was as big as his passion for life, and known to everyone on the block for its wall penetrating character. Danny was best known for the depth of his compassion and kindness, a gift he gave without reservation to everyone he encountered. It is no exaggeration to say that his heart was always open to anyone in need of care and gentleness. His legacy is written in the shocking number of hearts he graced with his touch. He leaves behind a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins in New York, fewer uncles in Colorado, and an absurd number of friends across the country. He will also be missed by all of the dogs he cuddled, though we regret they do not understand he is in a better place. Viewing will be held at Crist Mountain View Mortuary on Wednesday, December 29th, from 3 to 6 PM, with service at the same location from 6 to 7 PM. We miss you, Bear.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cristmortuary.com for the Lopez family.
