Elizabeth Hosack Reynolds passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Sunrise Reminiscence Center in Boulder. Elizabeth was born on September 15, 1940 in Durham, North Carolina to Nancy and Robert Hosack. The family moved to Moscow, Idaho where she grew up. Elizabeth graduated from Stanford University with a double major in Political Science and History. She later obtained a Master's Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Utah. Elizabeth moved to Boulder in the mid 60's and made many life-long friends while working at JILA on the Colorado University campus and being a member of the United Presbyterian Church of the Apostles. After leaving JILA she worked for the State of Colorado, first in the Employment Service and later in Workman's Compensation. She married Paul Reynolds on July 18, 1970 in Boulder. On moving to Colorado, Elizabeth took up skiing and became a skilled and enthusiastic skier, always ready for "just one more run." She also enjoyed riding her motorcycle, bicycling, hiking and camping. Elizabeth loved music, played the piano and often attended both the opera and symphony. She was a generous philanthropist at heart and contributed freely to a number of causes, both charitable and political. Just a few of her favorite charities were: EFFA in Boulder, The Nature Conservancy and the Wilderness Society. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her husband Paul of Boulder; her sister Harriet Karmon and husband Oshri of Lafayette, CA; her brother Charles and wife Kathy of Coeur d'Alene, ID and her sister-in-law Jackie and husband Jim of Bennett, CO. She also leaves behind up to three generations of nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. Crist Mortuary will be handling arrangements. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Boulder. A reception will immediately follow the memorial service, also at St. John's. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one of the charities listed above. Please share thoughts, memories, and condolences with the family at www.cristmortuary.com
