Frederick Marshall Lochner was born in Dayton, Ohio, on August 20, 1947, to Arnold Lochner and Mary Elizabeth Mattingly. Because he was an only child, he constantly looked for people who would want to be part of his family and he always sought to help others where they most needed him.
He had many passions and tried everything: working at IBM, selling nails to construction companies, managing the PDQ store in Boulder and cooking for Boulder Community Health. He spent many years singing in the choir at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church and enjoyed wonderful times with his friends there.
Fred and Rita celebrated 43 years of loving one another and enjoyed exploring the world together. During retirement Fred loved volunteering for Meals on Wheels, driving his 1939 Pontiac Silver Streak and playing his 1881 Aeolian Grand Player Organ. Fred’s laughter was contagious. He loved to be there for those who needed him and he loved life. More than anything, he loved his family: Freddie, Annette, Jenn and AJ and his grandchildren Nate, Matt, Jayden and Max.
He passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025.
