Herbert was a member of the U.S Coast Guard naval reserves. He was first shipman. He was a teacher and governor of the Transcendental Meditation ™ technique.

Herbert was a former resident of New Jersey, where his friends knew him as Herb; or “Higgie”.

Herb loved Colorado. He had homes in Crestone before residing in Superior, and finally in Boulder at Brookdale Boulder Creek. As a resident of Brookdale, he was simply known as “Mr. Wonderful”.

Herb was friend to all; kind, generous and witty. Herb loved animals and always had a pocketful of dog biscuits for his four-legged friends.

Herb always loved a good mystery, whether it was the latest novel that piqued his interest; or the deeper philosophies of life. He touched many and will be missed by all that knew him.

A memorial service for Herbert will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Crist Mortuary Chapel, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, CO 80301.
