Howard Lockhart Fogg, III, a truly gentle man and known to family and friends as Tex, passed away at his home in the Gunbarrel area on the evening of April 1st after a short illness. His older brother Richard Fogg and close friend Sandi Rush were with him. He was 66 years old. He is survived by Richard and his wife Janet in Longmont, Peter Fogg and his wife Nancy in Denver, and other relatives and friends from New England to Washington state. No formal services are planned. Tex was born in Summit, NJ on July 1, 1949, the youngest of the three sons of Howard L. Fogg, Jr. (April 7, 1917 - October 10, 1996) and Margot D. Fogg (July 25, 1920 - November 28, 2005.) The family moved to Boulder, Colorado in the summer of 1955, where Tex attended public schools and earned a special education certificate. He went to work for Leanin' Tree Publishing Company of Boulder in 1979 and worked there until shortly before his death, enjoying the camaraderie of his fellow employees. Among other interests he had a devotion to all things Broncos, an encyclopedic memory of television shows and their stars, an appetite for cheeseburgers and chocolate milk, and a long running passion for the Three Stooges (n'yuk n'yuk!). Visiting the summer house in Blue Hill, Maine where Margot grew up, and "chasing" trains with dad were two of his favorite experiences. Tex would almost always say "Fine!" when asked how he was doing, and greeted everyone with a big, sincere smile. Guileless in the purest sense of the word, he lived his life trusting the best in people and teasing them as well as being teased back. Confronted with a variety of health issues he maintained an admirable if sometimes impenetrable stoicism. We love you, brother, always have and always will.
