

FRISCHKNECHT, JACQUELINE Born 1932 in Norfolk,VA. Died September 4, 2015 in Boulder, CO. Pre-deceased by her husband, Frank C. Frischknecht. Survived by her daughters, EllaMarie Schroeder (Larry), Deborah Lemieur (Nicholas), and Amalie Frischknecht (Michael Wanke), and grandchildren Tony Lemieur, Megan Lemieur, Chris Schroeder (Kate), and Jeff Schroeder (Megan).
Her life was characterized by three passions: her family, learning and the arts. Her undergraduate degree was from the University of Colorado. She earned an M.S. in Library Science and a Ph.D. in Human Communication from the University of Denver. She taught at Arapahoe Community College and then went on to become the first Director of the Applied Communication Masters Program in D.U.’s University College. She also served as Dean of Academic Affairs at the University College. In the early nineties she became Dean of the Academic Advisory Board to the International University College of Mind Extension University. This was one of the earlier efforts in distance learning.
Doctor Frischknecht together with her daughter EllaMarie wrote and published three books on learning. She was very active with the Boulder Sister Cities group and the building of the Boulder Teahouse, as well as with a variety of other community organizations.
Jackie Frischknecht was good at many things and excelled as a parent, as a friend, and as a teacher.
A small memorial reception for family and close friends will be at the Boulder Teahouse, Thursday, September 10 from 2-5 pm. Brief comments will be offered at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends make donations to the charity of their choice.
