

Janet Ruth Jones, 76, died peacefully at home on July 7, 2016 after a lengthy battle with amyloid cancer. She was born at the end of 1939 in Lafayette, Indiana to Albert and Ruth Mills. They moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1950.
While attending Casey Junior High School in Boulder, Colorado, she met her future husband, Martin Jones. They were married for 17 years and had five wonderful daughters.
Janet started her rewarding career as an escrow officer in 1969 in Boulder, Colorado and continued to develop a reputation as one of the best escrow officers in the Boulder, Longmont and Loveland areas. She greatly enjoyed interacting with builders, loan officers, buyers and sellers and assisting them. Janet was a pioneer and helped develop the process to become a certified escrow officer in Colorado.
In 1974, Janet moved her children to Longmont, Colorado and continued raising her children. After her last daughter moved out of her home to start her life, Janet moved to Loveland, Colorado where she retired as an escrow officer in 2005 from First American Heritage.
Over the years, Janet enjoyed the expansion of her family to include son-in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She developed a long and very close relationship with her ex-husband’s wife, Mary Jones, and enjoyed a brotherly relationship with her ex-husband, Martin Jones.
Janet was a very strong and independent woman. She faced all obstacles head on. She taught her daughters to be strong, independent, realistic, compassionate, loving, smart and to stand up for what they believe in. Janet was very warm with a wonderful sense of self worth. She had a very expressive face and a wonderful sense of humor. She always accepted people for who they were.
Janet’s favorite things were watching football, riding in the mountains, keeping score at pool tournaments her daughter Marci played and enjoying time with her large family.
Janet is survived by her brother, Jim, her daughters, Joni Baldwin of Longmont, CO, Kelly Cowell of Roy, Washington, Lyndi Cooley of Longmont, CO, Marci Jones of Loveland, Co and Nicki Stokes of San Diego, CA; several nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
