

On June 8, 2024 - Joan Josephine Doyle (nee Kompa), loving mom of Paula Doyle and Deanna Doyle and her late son Gary Doyle, son-in-law James Bradley; grandmother to Holden, Aidan and Liam Bradley, Caroline Doyle and Scarlett Strickland. Joan's journey, spanning 87 remarkable years, was a testament to the enduring power of love, kindness, and resilience.
Born on St. Patrick's Day in 1937, Joan brought upbeat fun, humor and warmth wherever she went. Joan's positive attitude and unwavering spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She poured her heart into every relationship, nurturing friendships from the age of 5 to the present, and bonds that endured from New Jersey and Florida to San Diego and Boulder. Joan started her career at Campbell’s Soup in Camden, NJ and grew to be a successful sales executive and business leader at Western Union Electronic Mail Inc., before joining Paradyne/AT&T, and then founding Magnacom Inc. in Washington DC. She was a corporate trailblazer, breaking gender barriers and paving the way for women whom she inspired and mentored. Joan had a passion for decorating, fashion, good food, travel, and playing cards, especially bridge.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Joan's memory to World Central Kitchen at wck.org or The Nature Conservancy at nature.org in Joan's memory.
A celebration of Joan's life will be held in Encinitas, CA in March 2025. All are welcome to join us as we honor her memory and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
