Joe was born on July 15, 1971 to Joseph Phillip Castellano and Rochelle
Castellano, in Edison, NJ. He was the youngest of two children, and was
raised with his sister, Anya Castellano, in New Jersey.Joe will be fondly remembered for his deep love for his family and friends, great zeal for his many personal and professional passions, and
profound personal connections he formed with a wide variety of people in his many networks around the nation.
Joe formed a bond with the mountains as a young child, and moved west after graduating high school to pursue his passions for skiing, cycling, and skydiving. He moved to Park City, UT and then to Salt Lake City, where he graduated from the University of Utah majoring in Sports Psychology. Joe then moved to NewYork City, where he met his wife, Dana Charatan. The two were married in Red Bank, NJ in 2004.
Joe had a successful career as a technology recruiter in New York until he himself was recruited to work at Citadel Investments in Chicago, IL. Joe founded his own recruiting business, Securities Technology
Resources, in 2005 while living in Chicago, which is where his two children were born. Joe’s love of the
mountains brought him and his family to Boulder, CO in 2009, where he finally decided to return to his
initial love of psychology combined with his desire to help neurodiverse children and adults. He was first
introduced to neurofeedback in 2013 and immediately realized he had found his new career path. He
graduated from Naropa University with a Masters Degree in Somatic Psychotherapy and formed Alpine
Neurotherapy, devoted to providing neurofeedback services to those in need. He remained an avid rock
climber, cyclist, skier, and created a spiritual practice for himself; he would exuberantly share these
passions with any and all who knew him. His energy and devotion to his children and his personal and
professional interests will be his everlasting legacy.
Joe is survived by his two children Lyric and Hunter, childrens’ mother Dana Charatan, mother Rochelle
Castellano, father Joseph Castellano and his wife Leslie Siegel, sister Anya Castellano, niece Chelsea
Castellano and her husband Nick Grossman. The entire family would like to extend their sincere
gratitude for the outpouring of love and support they’ve been receiving from friends, family, and
colleagues from across the country.
