Marilyn R Brown

Marilyn was born March 31, 1918. She died August 14, 2014 at home surrounded by family. She was 96. She was born in Moody County, South Dakota to Lynn Brand Hall and Mary R. Smith. Marilyn grew up in Minnesota. She graduated from Amboy High School. She also graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, IA with a degree in home economics. She was a teacher and a county extension agent for home economics. On March 9, 1948, she married F. Donald Brown of Primghar, IA in Winnebago, MN. They moved to Colorado in 1952. Marilyn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Boulder since 1952. She was active in Sewing Circle and Mariners at the church. She was a stay-at-home mom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her sister Clarice and her brother Stuart. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Leggate (Warren) of Louisville, CO; two sons, Donald (Laurie) of Hayden, ID and James of Central Point, OR; one granddaughter Kristin Brown (James) of Thornton, CO; two great grandchildren, Luke and Grace Brown. Services will be held on Sunday, August 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Boulder. Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Chuch Board of Deacons or to any charity of your choice. Arrangements under the direction of Crist Mortuary, Boulder, CO.
