Michael died May 31, 2010 after an amazing fight against cancer. Michael was a wonderful loving husband, father and grandfather. He was the model of the best grandfather. He loved his family and they were his life. Michael served in Vietnam and was proud to be a Marine. It was something that stayed with him all his life and one of the things that gave him the strength to survive longer than expected. Michael spent many years at Mesa Elementary as a para pro and then as a kindergartner enrichment teacher. Michael loved being with his students and all the kids that came through Mesa during his years. He smiled when former students came up to him years after they had left Mesa.
Michael leaves behind a family that loves him, his wife Ellie, daughters Amy and Tara, son-in-law Dan, grandchildren Matthew, Meghann, Amanda, Kyle, Sam, Tenasha, Mikala and Oshea.
Michael loved his family, music, the New York Yankees, the Broncos, traveling and taking many wonderful trips. He loved Boulder which became his home after Vietnam. He’ll always be with us, and we miss him terribly.
