
On a warm, sunny day, while taking his customary morning walk, Dad left us for another world. He had recently visited us in Switzerland and died a contented man. Billy Silk of Boulder, Colorado formerly of Brookline, Massachusetts, died October 15, 2011 in Boulder. He was born October 12, 1923 to Samuel and Leah Silk in Boston. He attended Boston Latin School, the University of Pennsylvania, and Harvard Law School. Billy served in the Army Air Corp during World War II as a Flying Fortress pilot with the 390th Bomb Group.
He is survived by his daughter Jody Staehelin and husband Andreas Staehelin, son-in-law Al Colton, grandchildren: Rachel Colton, Meryl Colton, Raphael Staehelin, and Jonas Staehelin, nephews: Joel Froomer, Robert Silk and Jason Silk, and his dear friends Peter Yozell and Jon Pflaum. William is preceded in death by his daughter Robin Colton, and siblings: Sylvia Novinsky, Zelda Froomer and Arthur Silk. Services will be held Saturday October 22, 2011.
