Adam was born on June 24, 1971, in Washington D.C. to James L. and Patricia Finnin Charney.
As a teenager, Adam earned the title “Maui Kid” for his windsurfing abilities. Adam was the youngest violinist to join the Skokie Valley Youth Orchestra; he also became the assistant concertmaster in the New Trier High School symphony orchestra, which he participated in for four years. At sixteen years old, he worked as an audio systems installer at Mercedes and Porsche. In his teens and into his adult years, Adam focused his musical interests on guitar. He also enjoyed biking, boating, fishing, and golf.
Adam was always tech-savvy. He was a self-taught computer technician. He graduated from New Trier High School in 1989 and attended Southern Illinois University, Columbia College Chicago.
He will be remembered and missed by many for all his unique qualities and traits. Perhaps above all, his quick wit and sense of humor.
Adam is survived by his wife, Tara Sidlowski Charney; his parents, James Charney and Patricia Finnin Charney; his sister, Genevieve Charney O’Keefe (Thomas) and her children, Anna, Michael, and Kevin; his sister-in-law, Nicole Sidlowski Dickinson (Eric) and her children, Sidney and Anna; his sister-in-law, Kim Sidlowski and her children, Ella and Quinn Galster; his father and mother-in-law, Ronald and Lorrie Krebill Sidlowski; his step sister-in-law Kelli (Krebill) Lechnir (Chris) and their daughter Olivia; his step brother-in-law Darin Krebill (Yan) and their children Daniel and Madison; his dog, Olive; two cats, Carl and Frank; and many friends.
