Nikki was born July 6, 1983 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Richard C. Ward, Jr and Anita S. Ward. She was the eldest of 2 children. Joshua Ward is her younger brother. Nikki had recently completed her Master’s Degree to become a Nurse Practitioner, which was her dream for many years. She worked tirelessly as a Pediatric ER Nurse and had just started her Nurse Practitioner career.
She was on the front lines fighting Covid-19 and it was through this work that she was infected. After fighting the disease for over 2 weeks, she died from complications of Covid.
Nikki is survived by her 3 girls, Sierra Bass, Alicia Bass and Hannah Bass.
Nikki loved spending time with her girls and her 2 dogs. She loved spending time with family and friends. She loved the work she did in a pediatric emergency room. She rejoiced over every child who she helped to recover from illness and injury. She cried when she was not able to make a positive difference in her patients.
Nikki always focused on the positive and found the good in every single person she met. She was a very sweet, loving, generous, funny and kind human being who will be missed every hour of every day.
A gathering for Nikki will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a celebration of life at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL 34203.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ManasotaMemorial.com for the Bass family.
