

Donald Holsinger, 90, of Sarasota, FL, and formerly of Park Ridge, IL, passed away April 6, 2014. He was born in Racine, WI on August 31, 1923. He was the loving son of the late Ross and Marion Holsinger. Donald graduated from St. Catherine’s High School and served in the US Army and was a WWII Veteran. He attended Loyola University and Lake Forest College with a Masters in Business Management. He was a Plant Manager and Inventory Control Manager until his retirement.
Donald was a beloved husband and dearest friend to Eleanor, and caring and loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling with his family, playing cards, boxing and winning two golden gloves, giving good advice and was a life-long Packers fan. Don was a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Cascades Men’s Club and Elks, and American Legion and VFW Member. He was a dear friend to many people.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor of 51 years; stepson, Larry and his wife, Pam; grandson, Tom and his wife, Stephanie; granddaughter, Amy; siblings, Lois (Norm, deceased); Jim (deceased); Marilyn (Don); Carol (Emil); Dianne (Harold); and Donna (Jerry, deceased) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Manasota Funeral Home on 53rd Ave. in Bradenton, FL. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Sarasota, FL at 10:00 am Monday, April 14, 2014. A Military Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Mass Intensions for Donald may be made to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs or donations to Tidewell Hospice of Bradenton, 3355 26th St. W., Bradenton, FL 34205.
